Exploration
Shared spaces foster conversation and collaboration but it can be difficult signalling desire for socializing or alone time. Partial allows for visual signaling of sociability.
Partial is an ambient light to be opened, folded, and pinned, to express social energy levels.
Tools:
Paper, thumb tacs, aluminum wire

This is what a shared space can look like...
Multifunctional and tricky to switch from one use to another.

Inspiration
Interesting things I saw at the Carnegie & other pictures.
I wanted a light that was open to touch and seemed friendly and warm. Not fragile or prestine.

Process
This project was fairly quick and was mainly, make, see what to change, try again, repeat. Here are some of the models I made to get gluing, shape, transparency, and wall attachment just right.

Key Takeaways:
- Light shining through the paper exposed how everything was put together, every layer, every seam was shown.
- An iterative process building on the same foundation moved quickly and provide immediate feedback
- Glue-All and Tacky Glue are great glues
